Brookville Country Club

210 Chicken Valley Rd, Glen Head, NY 11545

Designed by Seth Raynor · Est. 1922

Brookville Country Club occupies a wooded property on Long Island's North Shore, where Raynor carved a challenging layout through mature trees and rolling terrain. The course features his geometric bunkering and well-defended green complexes.

History

Brookville Country Club was established in the early 1920s on Long Island's North Shore. Seth Raynor designed the 18-hole course between 1922 and 1924, routing it through the wooded, rolling landscape of the Brookville area. The design showcases Raynor's ability to create strategic interest on an inland, tree-lined property. Tight fairway corridors and well-placed bunkers demand accuracy, while the greens offer the contours and challenges typical of his best work. The club has preserved the essential character of Raynor's routing and design features, maintaining it as a strong example of his work on Long Island alongside nearby North Shore Country Club.
