366 Good Hope Rd, Bluffton, SC 29909Designed by Tom Fazio · Est. 2001

History
The North Course at Berkeley Hall Golf Club opened in 2001 as one of two 18-hole Tom Fazio layouts on a Lowcountry site bordering the Okatie River in Bluffton, South Carolina. Fazio worked on the project with associate Beau Welling, and the design brief explicitly drew on the classic 1920s designs of Riviera Country Club, Winged Foot and Seminole. The club became member-owned and operated in January 2005. Berkeley Hall was developed at one of the lowest home-site densities of any private club in the Southeast, with approximately 5.3 home sites per golf hole, allowing both the North and South courses to be routed through open corridors rather than tight housing pads. The North Course plays to a par of 72, with a listed length of 7,086 to 7,148 yards from the championship tees depending on setup. The greens are planted with bentgrass, a notable choice for the coastal Carolina climate.
