History

Bear Creek Country Club in Woodinville, Washington, occupies the heart of the Sammamish River valley east of Seattle, where the rolling terrain and mature tree canopy of the King County foothills create a parkland course of genuine Pacific Northwest character. The club provides private golf and social amenities to a membership drawn from the greater Seattle eastside communities of Woodinville, Redmond, Kirkland, and the surrounding Sammamish Valley. The course's origins trace to its development as a nine-hole layout that opened for public play in 1982, expanded to 18 holes in 1983, and subsequently converted to private membership in 1990.

The architect Jack Frei designed the expanded layout, creating a course that has been refined over the decades to meet the expectations of a first-class private club. The tree-lined fairway corridors and strategic hazard placement that define Bear Creek's character reflect the careful design work that established the course's reputation among the clubs of the Seattle eastside. The Woodinville location places Bear Creek at the center of one of Washington's most dynamic and prosperous communities, where the wine country of the Sammamish Valley and the technology industry wealth of the Eastside have created a sophisticated and engaged membership base.

Woodinville's emergence as a premier wine destination has added to the community's prestige, making Bear Creek's location among the attractive private golf addresses in the greater Seattle area. The course plays to approximately 7,026 yards from the championship tees, providing a championship test that challenges accomplished players while remaining accessible to golfers across a range of skill levels. The natural water features that flow through the property create strategic challenges and visual interest throughout the round, complementing the tree-lined corridors that define much of the course's character.

Bear Creek Country Club serves as a social center for the Woodinville community, hosting events, tournaments, and programming that extend the club's value beyond the golf course. The club has hosted Washington Golf Association events and invitational competitions that have established it as a quality competitive venue on the Seattle eastside. Today Bear Creek Country Club continues to serve the Woodinville community as a valued private golf institution, providing championship golf and comprehensive club amenities in the heart of the Sammamish Valley wine country.
