History
Aliante Golf Club opened on December 5, 2003, as the centerpiece of the Aliante master-planned community in North Las Vegas. Designer Gary Panks, who based his practice in the Phoenix area and developed numerous layouts across the desert Southwest, built the course around a naturally occurring arroyo that cuts through the property. The arroyo — a dry desert wash that carries stormwater runoff — comes into play on 14 of the 18 holes, creating dramatic elevation changes and interesting forced-carry situations that distinguish Aliante from flatter desert layouts. Panks incorporated two water features to complement the arroyo's visual drama, and planted uncommon species including Pear and Purple Locust trees that add seasonal color to the desert landscape.
